Mission Motorsport, The Forces’ Motorsport Charity has today announced that the National Transition Event (the NTE) will take place on the 27th February 2023 at ‘The Wing’, Silverstone Circuit’s state of the art conference centre.

An annual event, the NTE allows companies predominantly from the automotive and renewable energy sectors as well as further afield, alongside a variety of Service Charities, Government agencies and the Ministry of Defence to come together with Service leavers, veterans, and military spouses under one roof.  The purpose is to network, find out more about employment outside of the military and access support.

Unlike other career-focused events, the NTE is centred around successful transition and aims to leave attendees feeling empowered, armed with a better understanding of employment opportunities open to them and become better equipped for the civilian world.  In keeping with this theme, companies exhibiting are actively encouraged to bring their own veterans employed within the business.

Keynote speaker at the event will be Ben Saunders, world-record holding polar explorer and three times Ted Talks speaker. An inspirational figure, Ben will share his experiences of facing adversity during his explorations and how pushing oneself to their physical and mental limits can reap rewards. An advocate for Climate technologies, Ben will also share his experience of how climate change is adversely affecting our planet.

Speaking about the event, James Cameron, CEO, Mission Motorsport said, “We are thrilled to be able to host the National Transition Event once again.  Regardless of rank or length of service, transitioning from the military is daunting for everybody. By looking at transition in its entirety, we are enabling people to access the tools needed to be successful and give them piece of mind that there are employers who recognise their unique skillsets, and services willing to support.”

Unique to the NTE and an attractive draw to the event, the Mission Motorsport Troops Track Day will run concurrently allowing those attending the chance to experience exhilarating passenger rides around the iconic Silverstone GP Circuit.  Previous days have seen Ben Collins, (Former BBC Top Gear’s Stig), Jodie Kidd and Sir Chris Hoy behind the wheel.

Throughout the day there will be the chance to participate in different workshops, hear from industry experts and listen as others share their own experiences of transition.  The event will be set out throughout numerous halls:

  • The opportunity to speak with a variety of automotive companies

  • The opportunity to speak with companies from the rapidly growing ‘green energy’ sectors

  • Access to a range of service charities and Government agencies

James continued, “Thanks to the ongoing support of all the companies, charities, Government Agencies and MoD, the 2023 event is going to be the biggest in the NTE’s history and we are looking forward to seeing everybody in February.”

The NTE will be free to attend for both those from the military community as well as companies wishing to exhibit.  For those wanting a greater role in the day, sponsorship opportunities are available.
